19th c. Boneshaker
LOT 2a.
19th c. boneshaker. 38" front driving wheel and 32" rear wheel. Length is 73". Height from ground to top of handlebars is 48". Brass hub bands with wood spokes and rims. Tires are iron bands. Appears to be original decal on head, it's unclear of the meaning. Brass plate with French inscription. Original seat pan with leather pad. Frame is solid having 7 flat sides in an oval shape. Matching bronze pedals. Complete having retained the original patina.

C. 1885 "Pony" Star Bicycle
LOT 21.
C. 1885 "Pony" Star Bicycle, Mfg. by H. B. Smith Co., Smithville NJ. Featuring a 44" wheel, older restoration includes new front wheel. This example retains brakes, has proper solid rubber tires, restored saddle, pear grips. Stars have unique drive mechanisms and are considered America's first safety highwheel. They did very well in competition against other highwheel safeties. Pony's are considered the most comfortable riding machine in the Star safety series. Excellent rider, VG cond.

LOT 5.
c. 1928 "Lindy" bicycle, manufactured by the Shelby Bicycle Co., Shelby Ohio. This one owner example is a true survivor, always pampered and never abused. Tha patina can be described as used VG cond. Complete provenance from Mr. Harold H. Quickel includes letters about the bicycle and photos will be provided to the buyer. I spent some time with Mr. Quickel and he and I both look forward to getting his beloved bicycle to the next "caretaker". Missing propeller (Mr. Quickel couldn't stand the noise!) otherwise all original, includes an accessory rear rack.
