Copake Auction will hold its first transportation auction on Saturday March 17th at 10AM. Previews will be Thursday and Friday March 15th and 16th 11-5PM, Saturday March 17th 9AM until 9:45AM. The sale will be viewable online approximately two weeks before the auction at www.copakeauction.com. The auction will be available for live bidding online on liveauctioneers and invaluable.
“This is our first transportation auction, we are hoping to make it an annual event” according to Mike Fallon. Copake Auction is known worldwide for their bicycle auction and according Mike this sale stemmed from that. “This sale is made of up basically three collections, two of which were previous bicycle auction customers”. The sale features many collecting categories including The Bobby Albert racing archive featuring photographs, ephemera and more. The sale also features over 150 signs, boat motors, early automobile parts, posters, original artwork, medals, pins, ephemera and more. The sale will feature 750 fresh to the market items.
Highlighted items include a Rare Henderson, Four Cylinder Motorcycle with Side Car poster. Brennemann, depicting Rider in full dress and passenger with flowing wrap standing in side car. Sight Size 24 x 36. Estimate $6000-$7000, a Scarce early “Bibendum” Michelin Man Tire advertising figure, 31 ½” Ht. Ex. DR. Miller Collection. Estimate $5000-$6000, A Buddy L Walter Tower fire truck. Items from the Bobby Albert racing archive include hundreds or racing photographs and items he had collected as a racer over the years. Also included are a complete set of Nicky Fornoras Indy racing flags, Pegasus checkered flag, thimble dromes, a large Mobil sign and more.
The sale will feature over 150 early signs covering many different companies. “It’s the best sign collection we have ever offered” said Seth Fallon. The auction will include (7) boat motors including Evinrude, Mercury, Reo Motors and more. Also offered will be selection of early toys. Included in the sale will be pinbacks, medals, fobs, brochures, license plates, collectables and more. Early automobile parts will include hub caps, carburetors, and steering wheels. Clocks will include early automobile clocks, advertising wall clocks and scarce figural automobile clock. A Texaco gas pump will also be sold.
Also included will be original automobile related artwork. A group of scarce original Isotta Fraschini Showroom Artwork will be sold as well as original Ford automobile artwork. Other artists include William Harnden Foster, Robert Robinson, Karl Anderson and more.
