Hardinge, Charles Stewart. Recollections of India. Drawn on stone by J.D. Harding, from the original drawings by the Honourable Charles Stewart Harding, London 1847. This is a partial folio of (4) plates which consists of three plates from part I "British India and the Punjab" and I plate from part II "Kashmir and the Alpine Punjab". It is comprised of two hand-colored tinted lithographs measuring 17.75" and 21.75". Included also are Title pages for Parts I & II, thre Preface and the Dedication to "Her Majesty the Queen". Most plates exhibit foxing and toning. Note that all but one view is captioned on the mount in manuscript. Hand-coloured tinted lithographed plates mounted on thick card drawn on stone by J.D. Harding after Charles Stewart Hardinge. Each lithograph is captioned in pencil on the mount in manusript, excpet for Plate 13 from part II which is captioned in black ink. Note the larger size backing 21.75" x 17.75 wide indicates Panjab: the Maharajah Dhulip Sing & Sheik Imam-Ud-Din, Rujur Sing, and Dewan Dina Nath are from the first edition.
