LOT 517.Rare 1988 Hutch HPV Superbike. Designed by Dan Hanebrink (developed the “mono-track,” belt-driven motorcycle, an early rear-suspension Mountain Bike and BMX Gravity Bike and MTB pioneer). Sprocket sets ranging from 52 to 64 teeth in the front and 12 to 24 in the rear with 12 gears in total. Pedal power up to 40mph and "downhill and with a car in front for added slipstream, staff at the Bicycle Heaven Museum peg the top speed of this bike at a scarcely believable 139 miles per hour (223.7 kph)". Original retail $399. Scarce piece of BMX history.
