18th c. Pennsylvania painted and decorated poplar cabinet with drawer (23 1/2" x 17" x 42 1/2"). Provenance: Wallace Nutting Collection (1919-1924), purchased in its entirety in 1925 by the young J. Pierpont Morgane, who donated it to the Wadsworth Atheneum Hartford. De-accesioned in 1991. Literature: Wallace Nutting Furniture Treasury, Macmillan Publishing Company, Inc., New York, 1928.
