Rare pair of cast iron marble top Classical tables. 27 3/8" Ht., 39 1/4" L., 24 7/8" W.. This pair is identical to a pair offered by the distinguished London firm of Mallett, where they were described as "A Pair of Empire Tables D' Officiers", made in France C. 1810. An offering sheet from them with the price of $104,000.00 for the pair, and various color plates from from a catalogue issued in May 2005 accompany this lot. The present tables retain their original variegated marble tops, whereas the Mallet tables had replacement wooden tops that were marbleized.
