Copake Auction will hold its 41st Annual New Year’s Day on Friday January 1st at 10AM. This sale will be an online auction featuring 750 estate fresh lots. According to Mike the gallery holds back quality items all year with this sale in mind! Previews will be limited by appointment. The gallery has held online only sales since the pandemic began and hopes to have crowds once it is safe to do so. The sale will be online on liveauctioneers, invaluable, auctionzip, hibid, info available at www.copakeauction.com. The gallery also takes phone and absentee bids. Shipping is available through local pack and ship stores and variety of carrier services the gallery uses.
This year features a great selection of 17th through 20th Century furniture including highboys, lowboys, sets of period chairs, early seating, candlestands, card tables and more. Also included will be chests of drawers, primitive country furniture, Mid Century, Arts & Crafts and Victorian furniture. Period furnishings will be offered from a Palatine Bridge Estate, several Colebrook Connecticut estates, a Alford Mass. estate and other selections culled from the tristate region and beyond. The auction will include a quality selection of period Continental furniture and accessories. From an Albany New York estate will be a full sized English pub (breaks down for transport).
The auction will feature a quality selection of folk art including weathervanes, a rare 19th Century boxers carving, baseball cigar figure, carvings, trade signs, walking sticks, game boards, mangle board and more. Textiles will include samplers, homespun and (10) quilts. From an Alford Massachusetts estate will be a large collection of oversized perfume display bottles, Indian Clubs and Barber Poles. Period accessories will include woodenware, metalware and more.
Included will be two Blackamoors from a Colebrook Connecticut estate, bronzes, lighting, fireplace equipment and other fine furnishings. Several lots of 19th Century Shaker furniture and accessories will be sold including cupboards, work bench, stand and more. Artwork will include a quality selection of listed artists, primitives, still life’s, folk art drawings and more. An unusual piece is a Picasso Linocut similar to an example shown on Pawn Stars, reputed to be hand embellished. A Teddy Roosevelt collection will be sold including banks, textile, china and more. Toys will include still and mechanical banks, Lil’ Abner band and more.
