Shimano Built for Patrick Sercu
LOT 4.
Shimano Light Weight bicycle. Built for Patrick Sercu. Includes a letter from Tom Kellogg: "This bike was built for Patrick Sercu. Jack Simes and Dave Chauner were the Velodrome directors at this time ('79) and they tried to get Anton Tkac to be the big star at the season's big event, but he fell through and they got Patrick who was an old frined of Jack's. They wanted Patrick to ride around the Velo when they introduced him to the crowd so they contracted with me to build the frame to his specs. It took a little time to ge the numbers, but I did get it done in time. As it turned out, Patrick did ride it around the velo for a few laps...in his three piece suit. I don't know any of its history since then. The design the Patrick asked for was a pretty traditional 6-Day desing. Slacker than average seat angle, pretty heavy tubing etc. There you go. Tom Kellogg.
