1937 Elgin Bluebird in optional 'gunmetal' gray color with original plating and painted surfaces. This revolutionary iconic design featured integrated speedometer, tank and lighting, with streamlined pedals, stem and fenders. All components, with the exception of the fender ornament and tires are period original. It is highly unusual to find a seventy-six year old bicycle in this unmolested condition.

C. 1888 "Pony" star high wheel safety, patented by George Pressey of Hammonton NJ, produced by H.B. Smith Machine Co. Smithville NJ. Very original example, untouched condition. Serial no. 3626, retains identification badge, cast bell, possibly original saddle, 24" front 39" rear wheels, original grips, brakes, Old Sol head lamp, tires appear to be replaced. Very good rider, one of the best original Stars we have offered. This is the smallest example of this machine we have offered.

Very rare C. 1896 "Zimmy" pneumatic safety, by Zimmerman Mfg. Co. Freehold NJ. Founder Arthur Augustus Zimmerman of Freehold NJ (1869 - 1936) won the first world sprint championship in 1893 and won more than 1000 races. To our knowledge this is the only Zimmy to ever appear at auction. The Copake Auction obtained the Zimmy many years ago for David Metz, he told us he had been advertising for years to find one. Good restored condition. A collection of framed Zimmerman items from the Metz Museum are included with the bicycle. David Metz Museum.
