C. 1898 Comet wooden framed female pneumatic safety, Comet Cycle Co. Toronto Canada. 20 1/2" frame, very original unrestored condition, nickel plating worn. "Lucky Tread...made in Canada for Canada Cycle and Motor Company Limited" tires. Retains wooden chain guard handlebars and rear fender, "Smith Hygienic" saddle, folding basket. Unrestored very original survivor. Good condition.

Rare 1889 Psycho Safety Tandem
LOT 1a.
Rare 1889 Psycho Safety Tandem. Starley Brothers, St. John's Works, Coventry, England. Serial #14 of possibly 100 units manufactured. Believed to be one of maybe a dozen examples left in the world. When the Starley Brothers exhibited their bicycles in 1888 and 1890, this Psycho did not appear, giving proof that this is a "one year only" production. Intended for ladies and gentleman with double steer and double brakes. 30" wheels fitted with new 7/8th tires. Weight 74 pounds. Geared to 57 inch. Matching ladies and mens saddles. Matching pedals. Both front and rear coasting steps. Rare example and opportunity.

Co., Chicopee Mass., 1 of 16 known and only 30 made. Retains saddle, grips, pedals, adjustable rear step, name badge "The King Patent Sept. 86/Nov. 87....".
