C. 1960's Bowden "Spacelander" bicycle in "charcoal" black. Retains rear rack (usually missing), manufactured by Bomard Industries, Grand Haven Michigan, designed by Benjamin Bowden, an English industrial designer noted for his work on early Chevrolet Corvettes and the iconic Ford Thunderbird. This model represents industrial design as art. Mr. Bowden finally produced approx. 522 bicycles circa 1957-1961. Ex Jimmy Valentine collection, North Hollywood, CA. Serial #B009969. This restored example has all the bells and whistles including Kelly handle bars, celluloid grips, "Christy" anatomical saddle, Pierce Arrow logo leather tool pouch, matching pedals, New Departure (made for Pierce) front and rear hubs, matching "Elizabethtown Universale Tire Co." red, 28" button tread tires. Stunning restoration, super paint with color matched rims, excellent nickel plating. The best Pierce we have ever offered.
