3A. c.1890 Star highwheel safety, manufactured by H.B. Smith Machine Co. of Smithville, New Jersey (1881-1892), 52?rear and 22?front wheels, moustache handlebars with pear grips, tilting pedals, front brake with unusual blacksmith made hand grip, saddle (not original), exposed front coil spring. Old restoration, one spoke broken otherwise very good condition. Sold: $10,725

7A. c.1860抯 Pickering style boneshaker (possibly a Pickering) having 38 綌 front and 35?rear wooden spoked wheels, blacksmith made forged iron frame, spring steel backbone-saddle mount, sophisticated bronze steering head with unusual split forged handlebars, sheet metal saddle pan (no cover). This model has bronze junctions which thread into the frame members and also serve as axle bearings. Spoked wheels in old light blue paint. Overall excellent original condition. Sold: $4,620

12A. c.1889 Springfield Roadster manufactured by Springfield Bicycle Manufacturing Co. of Boston, MA (1887-1889). The example appears to be a 搉umber 2?model sold in 1889 for $100. It features a gear driven lever instead of the usual rotary crank, one of the few innovations in American bicycles of this period. 50?front wheel 20 綌 rear. This example has moustache handlebars with stirrup or spade handle grips (missing wooden grips). Retains front brake, improper saddle, rear fork has been welded and rear wheel is missing some spokes. Barn fresh, needs some restoration. A scarce and desirable machine. Sold: $5,280

18. Poster: Cycles Wolff American. Depicts pretty young woman with a bouquet of roses riding a Wolff American pneumatic safety bicycle. Printed in Paris, 揑mp. J. Kossuth & Co, 24 Rue Albouy, Paris? Mounted on linen. 58?x 41 綌. Some imperfections, restoration to top left corner. Sold: $770

22. 19th c. bicycle oil lamp, rare 揊ire Ball, manufactured by The Cycle Danger Signal Co., NY, pat. Applied for? Very unusual small size and spherical shape with clear jeweled lens and three red jeweled lenses. Complete with original sprung mounting bracket. Nickel plated. Base has dents. Good condition. Sold: $1,210

29. c.1890 Eagle Roadster with 51?wheel, patented by L.B. Gaylor of Stamford, CT in 1886. The eagle is the only highwheel safety that had a rotary crank. This model appears to be a Roadster c.1890, sold new for $130. Retains brakes, head badge, tires, pedals, and saddle leather. This model is original and unrestored in very good condition. Sold: $11,000

33A. Very scace c.1892 bicycle poster, 揟he Raleigh? featuring Arthur Augustus Zimmerman of the New York Athletic Club, 揅hampion of the World? This dealer promo piece is of cardboard design and was displayed to stimulate sales. The poster shows its age and has tack holes, some corner damage and stains. 21 綌 x 15 綌. Overall fair condition. Sold: $880

35. 1889 Columbia Light Roadster hard tire safety having split frame with adjustable hung crank, older restoration, brake hardware missing, retains name badge, saddle is recovered, handlebars have wooden grips and scarce thumb bell. Retains headlight spring mount. 32?front wheel 30?rear wheel. Note wheels can convert to cushion tires. Overall good condition, paint is excellent, cranks have some plating loss. Sold: $4,125

37. c.1879 French Renard type 52?highwheel having innovative split spring suspension seat and rear brakes (unfunctional), direct spokes with 揗eyer?rims, drop handlebars with pear shaped grips, and two rear steps. Older restoration. Excellent condition. Sold: $2,860

40. c.1889 Victor Model C man抯 hard tire safety having half heart sprung suspension. Retaining rear brakes with all hardware, recovered seat, rear step mount, 30?wheels. Restored condition. Note this model originally cost $135 new. Sold: $9,075

42. 1937 Roadmaster Supreme by the Cleveland Welding Co. Joining the art deco trend the Cleveland Welding Co. presented this all new flagship model bearing the Roadmaster 揝upreme?badge. Featuring a frame with curving tubes and a pedal crank with curving arms, the bicycle also has a unique tank with built-in dual headlights, and a rear rack with the 揻lashlight?style light. This model is extremely rare having been produced in limited quantities for 1937 it was to change to a different tank and rack for 1938. The bike has been completely restored in an original color scheme and is correct in every respect. Sold: $8,635

44. 1940 Elgin girl抯 4 star dual headlight sport model in fabulous original ivory paint. Outstanding condition in every respect: Allstate white side tires, front floating hub, proper beige seat, illuminated rack with lens, jeweled signed pedals, excellent original chrome. Sold: $1,540

46. c.1867 boneshaker having wrought iron frame with spring steel seat mount and fancy wrought iron 搕ee?foot rest fitting leading off the front fork, wooden spoked wheels in old red paint, 38?front wheel and 33 綌 rear. Straight handlebars with turned wooden grips with brass ferrules. Frame painted black with yellow and red pinstriping. Old recovered leather saddle, brass triangular pedals.
